The Indian gaming industry lost revenues and jobs last year, according to the deputy executive director of the National Indian Gaming Association.
Tribal casinos took in $26.2 billion dollars in 2009. That's down $500 million from the year prior, the first time the industry has lost money since 1988. "It’s not a big hit – certainly not as big a hit as Nevada and New Jersey are taking," Jason Giles said at the Southern Gaming Summit, Gambling Compliance reported.
