The New York State Liquor Authority held a meeting on Wednesday to consider a liquor sales arrangement at the Oneida Nation casino.
The tribe entered into a partnership with the owners of the Beeches Restaurant. The tribe will lease space at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino to CD Food & Beverage, which applied for the state permits. There was some opposition to the permits, The Utica Observer-Dispatch reported. The board gave people another week to comment on the proposal and will make a decision at another meeting next Wednesday. The board in the past has denied permits to the tribe due to legal issues, mostly concerning taxation. The new partnership would appear to address some of those concerns because CD Food would collect a bed tax and a sales tax. Get the Story:
