The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is keeping a close eye on the gaming debate in Massachusetts in hopes of expanding its gaming empire there.
The tribe has a 99-year lease on a site in Palmer, in western Massachusetts. A $700 million resort with a hotel, convention center and restaurants could generate 3,000 jobs, a Mohegan Sun executive said. The plan depends on how the gaming debate turns out in the Massachusetts Legislature. The House passed a bill this week to authorize two casino resorts and slot machines at racetracks but the Senate is considering a different plan. Get the Story:
