Officials in Richmond, California, say an anti-casino group posted illegal signs all across the city.
Stop the Mega Casino acknowledged it is behind the signs that call on city council members to reject a casino agreement with the Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians. But the group, which is funded by non-Indian card clubs, says it paid a vendor to post the signs on private property. Officials, however, said the group never applied for a permit as required by city law. The signs are being torn down as a result. The Guidiville Band wants to build a $1.2 billion casino at the Point Molate Naval Fuel Depot. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has released a draft environmental impact statement and environmental impact report for the Point Molate Resort. Get the Story:
