The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina passed a resolution to move forward with a Class II gaming facility but two tribal council members have filed an official protest against the decision.
Big Cove Rep. Teresa McCoy voted for the resolution but said she felt coerced during the closed council session. Painttown Rep. Terri Henry didn't vote because she walked out of the session in protest. The resolution authorized the tribe to look at potential sites in Cherokee County and to secure financing. Get the Story:
