The Kansas Lottery approved a contract for a state-owned casino on Wednesday that depends on plans by the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma.
The tribe wants to use 10 acres in Park City for an off-reservation casino. But the Bureau of Indian Affairs has yet to make a decision on the land-into-trust application after more than 10 years. Regardless, the developers of the Chisholm Creek Casino Resort are worried that the tribe's plans could affect the facility.
