The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians will make its first casino payment to local governments in Michigan.
The tribe's compact calls for 2 percent of slot machine profits from FireKeepers Casino to be shared with the community. The payment was $1.9 million, double what was expected.
