A gaming commissioner for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan is being accused of malfeasance for having "intimate relationships" with employees of the FireKeepers Casino.
Nathaniel Spurr, the son of chairwoman Laura Spurr, does not deny "dating" casino employees. But he said his relationships occurred during "personal time outside of work hours." "For the record, the performance of my job has never been affected in any way by my personal life outside of work, and I would recuse myself if I thought anyone would have any concerns about it," Spurr said in a statement to The Battle Creek Enquirer.
