Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York) says the Obama administration is "tantalizingly close" to announcing its position on off-reservation gaming.
Schumer supports off-reservation casinos in the Catskills, about 90 minutes north of New York City. He wants the Obama administration to rescind a policy that makes its virtually impossible for tribes to acquire land away from existing reservations. Schumer said he spoke with Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on the issue and that he expects a decision "in the coming weeks." Get the Story:
