Dry Creek Band reports drop in gaming revenues

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

The Dry Creek Band of the Pomo Indians saw an 11 percent drop in gaming revenues in the last quarter of 2008 and a 6 percent drop for the entire year.

River Rock Casino reported $31.4 million in revenues in the last quarter of 2008, down from $35.5 million a year prior. For all of 2008, revenues were $130.6 million, down more than 6 percent.

The casino is taking steps to cut costs and increase business, an executive said. The tribe delayed a $600 million expansion last year amid the national recession.

“Everything is on hold,” acting chief executive officer John Cirrincione told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. “The tribe is going to look at all the alternatives.”
