Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) hasn't taken a position on the off-reservation casino proposed by the Tohono O’odham Nation.
The tribe wants to open a casino on 135 acres in Glendale. Since the land was purchased with funds authorized by an act of Congress, the tribe doesn't believe it needs state approval. Some officials in Glendale have raised concerns about the proposal but haven't officially come out with a position. Rep. Trent Franks (R), who represents the area, opposes the casino. Get the Story:
