The leader of Pojoaque Pueblo says his tribe's $245 million resort in northern New Mexico is off to a slow start amid the national economic recession.
But Gov. George Rivera said the tribe is meeting its financial obligations. He disputed a Financial Times report that quoted anonymous analysts who said the Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino was in danger of defaulting. "That's from somebody who's guesstimating stuff," River told The Santa Fe New Mexican. The resort opened last fall and is the largest tribal casino in New Mexico. Get the Story:
