The Seminole Tribe is weighing a $1 billion expansion of its casino in Tampa, Florida.
The tribe envisions a bigger gaming floor, more hotel rooms, additional meeting space, a music venue and new restaurants at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. But the project won't move forward without state approval of a Class III gaming compact. "Compact approval is necessary to ensure the continuation of blackjack and Las Vegas-style slot machines, which are responsible for almost all of the casino revenue," spokesperson Gary Bitner told The Tampa Bay Tribune.
