The Ho-Chunk Nation has settled a compact dispute with the state of Wisconsin.
The tribe agreed to pay $60 million in back payments under a 2003 compact whose provisions were invalidated by the state courts. That's $12 million less than what the state claimed it was owed. The tribe signed a new deal to share up to 5.5 percent of revenues from its casinos. That's lower than the 6 percent rate in the 2003 compact.
