The board of supervisors in Butte County, California, won't schedule a voter referendum on Indian gaming due to lack of support.
Supervisors instead decide to hold a hearing to address the impacts of gaming. The hearing is tentatively set for September 23. The county is home to two casinos and more are being proposed.
