A judge in New Mexico has dismissed a lawsuit that claimed Sandia Pueblo in New Mexico cheated a man out of a $1.6 million "jackpot."
Gary Hoffman claimed he won the money on a slot machine at the Sandia Resort & Casino. But the tribe determined that the machine malfunctioned and said Hoffman only won $400.
Hoffman sued in state court and the tribe raised a sovereign immunity defense.
Judge Linda Vanzi of the Second Judicial District Court agreed with the tribe and dismissed the case.
