The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians will be distributing an estimated $1 million in casino revenues this winter.
Under a consent decree, the tribe shares 2 percent of slot machine revenues with local governments. Distributions occur twice a year -- in the winter and the summer. The tribe accepts request for funding until December 31. The Leelenau Enterprise said the tribe receives twice as many requests as it can fulfill.
