The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona began work on a new casino resort that will be more then twice the size of the tribe's current facility.
The new Casino Arizona includes a 15-story hotel, a 100,000-square-foot conference center, a spa, restaurants and parking garages. "We're looking for a four-star-plus type of operation," Russ Burbank, senior vice president of operations, told The Arizona Republic. The tribe will continue operating the old Casino Arizona but will close a smaller facility when the new resort is completed in 2010. Get the Story:
