Friday, November 30, 2007
GoldenPalace.Com, the world's largest Internet casino, has been fined $2 million by the Quebec government, CBC News reported.
GoldenPalace is hosted by a server on the Kahnawake Mohawk Reserve. The First Nation issued a gaming license to the company.
But the Quebec government said GoldenPalace was operating without a provincial license. The company is based outside of Montreal.
The Kahnawake council has issued 443 permits to online gaming operators, according to CBC.
