The Seminole Tribe and the state of Florida are confident they can reach a compact for Class III gaming by November 15.
The tribe and the state have been negotiating for several months. A draft agreement calls for the tribe to share $50 million up front and at least $100 million a year in slot machine revenues. If the two sides can't reach an agreement by November 15, the Interior Department says it will allow the tribe to operate slot machines. That would mean the state wouldn't get a cut of the revenues.
