The Bureau of Indian Affairs has extended the deadline for the Seminole Tribe and the state of Florida to reach a Class III gaming compact.
The BIA has been pushing the state to finalize a deal. If one isn't reached, the agency plans to issue procedures to allow the tribe to operate slot machines. The new deadline for an agreement is October 15. Past deadlines, however, have been extended due to progress in the negotiations.
