The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma has reached a deal over its disputed casino site in Kansas.
The tribe signed a memorandum of understanding that states that local governments have no authority over the site in downtown Kansas City. The agreement calls on the tribe to negotiate for fire, police and other municipal services. Another provision states the tribe can offer Class III gaming if the federal government approves. The National Indian Gaming Commission has said the site does not qualify for a casino but a federal judge has ordered the agency to reconsider.
