Osage Nation to open travel plaza, gaming center

The Osage Nation of Oklahoma is opening a travel plaza and gaming center, its first in the state.

The convenience store and motel is located in Skiatook. The tribe plans to add 50 gaming machines to the site, Chief Jim Gray said.

According to the National Indian Gaming Commission, the tribe can use site in Osage County for gaming regardless of land status. The tribe operates five casinos and will be opening a sixth on September 1.
