Thursday, August 9, 2007
The Pauma Band of Mission Indians plans a $300 million expansion of its casino in southern California.
The tribe currently operates a 1,090-slot machine casino in a temporary building. The new casino will boast 110,000 square feet of gaming space, up to 2,500 slot machines, a 400-room hotel, a spa and a six-story garage.
The project is being financed by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.
The Pauma Band has entered into a management agreement that will be sent to the National Indian Gaming Commission for approval.
The tribe hasn't decided what to call the facility.
