Mashpee casino question drafted by opposition

A question that will help determine whether the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe can build a casino in the town of Middleboro, Massachusetts, was written by an opposition group.

CasinoFacts.org opposes the tribe's plans to put a casino in the town. The group's question will be placed before voters on July 28.

Another question on the ballot asks voters whether they support a casino agreement with the tribe. The tribe proposes to share $7 million a year plus $150 million in infrastructure improvements. The town says it wants 1 to 2 percent of slot machine revenues plus $200 million in improvements.
