National Indian Gaming Commission Chairman Phil Hogen spoke about the need to draw a “bright line” between Class II and Class III machines at the North American Gaming Regulators Association conference in Kansas City last week.
After tribes objected, NIGC recently scrapped regulations to redefine Class II machines. But the agency plans to come up with a new draft in a few weeks. Hogen also said the NIGC needs to have authority over Class III games. “Regulation needs outsiders,” he said, The Kansas City Star reported. “That perception of tribal ownership and regulation causes concern.” Get the Story:
