About 60 people attended a prayer rally near the site of the off-reservation casino sought by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
Jackson County United for Families organized the rally. Speakers talked about their moral objections to gambling. "Satan's up to something; he's up to this. He's rallying the troops," one pastor said, The Mississippi Press reported. The tribe owns 100 acres in Ocean Springs, more than 200 miles from the reservation.
