Oglala Sioux Tribe opens big casino complex
Friday, May 11, 2007
The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota is hoping to lure more people to its new Prairie Wind Casino.
The 47,000-square-foot casino has been open for more than a month. It replaces a tent-like structure that had been used since 1998.
The casino isn't all that's new. The tribe will open a 35,000-square-foot hotel and convention center in the coming weeks.
“We finally got a permanent home, and it’s a permanent home we can be proud of,” Lupe Hudspeth, the casino's marketing manager, told The Rapid City Journal.
