Three California tribes are sharing more than $4 million in gaming revenues with local communities.
The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of California is holding its annual donation event today. The tribe will distribute $1.3 million to nearly 100 organizations. The Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians and the Barona Band of Mission Indians are sharing more than $3 million with San Diego County. It's part of a total of $30 million going to the Special Distribution Fund this year. According to The Palm Springs Desert Sun, some tribes won't be required to make payments to the fund if lawmakers approve a new gaming compact with the Agua Caliente Band, the Sycuan Band and three other tribes.
