The Hannahville Tribe of Potawatomi Indians and the city of Romulus, Michigan, are hopeful they can win federal approval for an off-reservation casino.
The tribe wants to build the casino on 24 acres in Romulus. The site is more than 450 miles from the reservation. City leaders back the project. They will make their case at a Bureau of Indian Affairs hearing tomorrow night. If the BIA approves the casino, it has to receive the concurrence of Michigan governor.
