La Posta Band opens casino with 349 slot machines

Tuesday, January 16, 2007

The La Posta Band of Mission Indians of California opened its first casino on Monday.

The $23.5 million La Posta Casino is small by southern California standards. The 20,000-square-foot facility east of San Diego has 349 slot machines but no table games.

The casino includes a International House of Pancakes but the restaurant won't be open until early February due to delays in getting supplies, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Until then, the casino can't serve liquor.

The casino employs 90 people and will be open 24 hours on the weekend.
