Yes, these past months I have been really busy! Enjoying life, the kids and family. I miss all my friends on indianz, so I decided to take some breaks, I hope that we all can talk here...
My cousin is making some awesome porky roaches! They are just beautiful, he has pictures on facebook, his name is Guy Ray Pocowatchit if you want to take a look!

Good morning Keely, the forum looked very quiet from last night.
Porky roaches? What dat? At first I thought of cute pig broaches as some ppl like pigs. I know my older sister does and could not take any of the meat from the 2 pigs she helped feed on my brother's behalf! |

Back here they're called Kustowa (pronounced guss-doe-wa) which for the Kanien'keha:ka has 3 feathers on top.
Btw, it's too bad you don't eat pork. Are you a vegetarian? I can't help but loooooove B.L.T.s & center cut pork chops & pork roast and... |

Yeah, well when I was little, my mom knew a gal who got a tape worm from under cooked pork, I seen what she went through and since my Grandfather had said our people did not eat pork because it was a dirty food, it all made sense to me!! It just stuck, but a lot of Shawnees do eat pork.
I dont like raw tomatos... they have to be cooked for me LOL
I am no vegan, nope, my bones aint green LOL Hitler was a vegan and part of id'n his skull in Russia was due to the green hue of the skull..
My favorite meat is buffalo, I love buffalo meat, I also eat some beef, and deer. My husband is not fond of deer, bummer...

Cooked tomatoes, heheh! And fried green tomatoes! And a tapeworm in that girl?! Yikes, that'd be enuf to keep away from it too then.
And yur hubby is not fond of deer?! I tried deer & moose meat too & liked it, tho that was more a treat. Never tried buffalo meat.
I hope to learn from my bro how to keep & raise livestock as well as make a garden. Recently bought a book for a mere $4 on how to make a garden. Gonna try it this spring/summer finally! |

You need to try buffalo... so tender and lean...
Since we did our home addition, we dont have the huge back yard that we once enjoyed, our garden will be down to pumpkins and watermellon, (the kids love growing these things!) We will grow okra and maybe cabbage again... cabbage did not do so good last year, but the hubby planted them in shade LOL he is so funny |
