Four Navajo Code Talkers were given a special student-designed medal at a ceremony at Navajo Preparatory School in New Mexico last month.

Gold and silver medals were given those who graduated from attended or graduated from the Navajo United Methodist School, the predecessor to the prep school. Senior Darren Oliver created the design of a Navajo warrior with an eagle overhead.

David Tsosie, Wilfred Billey, Merril L. Sandoval and Samuel F. Sandoval received the honors on April 19. Carl L. Todacheene wasn't present at the ceremony but will get his medal later.
