Ashcroft names head of Indian panel

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2002 Attorney General John Ashcroft has named a U.S. Attorney with experience in Indian issues as chair of the Department of Justice's Native American Issues Subcommittee. U.S. Attorney Tom Heffelfinger in Minnesota said the post will help him improve Indian communities. He specialized in Indian law at his former law firm of Best & Flanagan. Get the Story:
