State of the Union is tonight

President Bush will deliver his State of the Union address to Congress tonight, his first since taking office.

The televised remarks begin at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.) will deliver a response following.

Bush's popularity is at a record high as he goes into the address. An ABC News / Washington Post poll found that 83 percent of respondents thought he was doing a good job, the highest of any president at the same time.
