Native corp seeks casino waiver

THURSDAY, APRIL 4, 2002 Cook Inlet Region Inc., an Alaska Native corporation, has asked the Nevada Gaming Control Board for a waiver to ensure stockholders get paid for a casino venture. Under federal law, the corporation must pay dividends to stockholders. Under Nevada law, each of the approximately 6,900 stockholders would have to meet requirements such as being free of mob ties.
