WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 2, 2002

The Indian Health Service, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking comments on whether it should conduct an annual survey of tribal and health leaders.

The survey is aimed at assessing how tribes and affected parties view the IHS consultation process. Called "Stakeholder Satisfaction with IHS Tribal Consultation", the survey was proposed last year but no responses were received so the comment period has been reopened for another 30 days.

A Federal Register notice published December 31, 2001, announces the reopening of the comment period. More information on the survey can be obtained from the IHS.
