Navajo health care up for vote again
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2002

As if last year's tribal referendum wasn't confusing enough, the Navajo Nation tribal council is set to vote today on whether to take over health care duties from the federal government.

Some in the tribe support the move, saying it will bring Navajo care in Navajo hands. But opponents say the tribe won't be able to provide the same level of service as the Indian Health Service.
