A Chicago company on Thursday filed a lawsuit in federal court to try and force approval of a kitty litter plant in Nevada.

Oil-Dri Corp. says it has a valid right to operate a clay mine and litter plant. It sued a Nevada county for denying a a permit as part of its proposal.

The plant would be on private and federal land next to the Reno Sparks Indian Colony. The Bureau of Land Management had given approval but revoked after Washoe County denied a special use permit.
