TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 2002

Four women are facing charges of trespassing, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing police for protesting the killing of bison near Yellowstone National Park.

The women chained themselves together and refused to leave the Montana Department of Livestock office in Helena. Under a plan approved by the Clinton administration, the office is allowed to shoot bison which wander out of the park for fear or transmitting a disease to cattle.
