Pollution case at Navajo settled

THURSDAY, MARCH 28, 2002 Texaco Inc. will pay $850,000 for 88 oil spills and other environmental violations that allegedly occurred on the Navajo Reservation in Utah. The company is also paying $1.2 million over three years to improve safety at an oil and gas field. The complaints filed by the Environmental Protection Agency stem from spills that polluted the Montezuma Creek and other tributaries of the San Juan River. Get the Story:
