The National Academy of Sciences' interim report on the Klamath Basin is available online.

The report was officially released Wednesday but copies were leaked to numerous media organizations earlier this week. The report states that biological opinions the Department of Interior relied upon to shut off water to non-Indian farmers on the Oregon-California border were not scientifically valid.

The shutoff restored water to protected species of fish. Tribes in the area consider the fish sacred and depend on them for subsistence.
