The Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla Tribe of California is disappointed about the announcement a power plant planned for the reservation is on hold, said Chairwoman Mary Belardo.

Belardo said the tribe feared Calpine Corp. would pull the plug and sought assurances recently. But due to low energy prices, the company says most of its projects not under construction will be on hold.

The tribe is hoping to keep the project alive.
