Village school could reopen next week

THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2002 The McQueen School in Kivalina, Alaska, could reopen for classes as early as next week, a school official said. Charles Mason, a district chief executive officer, closed the school, citing threats against staff and teachers. He has since been directed by the state to open the school as early as possible.
