Funding for an Indian museum in Oklahoma is being held up in the Senate.

The House in December approved spending $33 million for the Native American Cultural Center and Museum. Rep. Brad Carson (D-Okla.), who has championed the museum along with other Oklahoma lawmakers, said there isn't a specific objection to the museum but a general one of the funding source.

The Department of Interior would be authorized to spend the money but there is a question of whether a special fund for museums and libraries should be tapped, said a spokesperson.
