THURSDAY, MAY 9, 2002 Erika Washee Stanley and Carlene Nofire-Morris are Students of the Year at Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas. Stanley is a straight-A student of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. She is going on to Kansas University to get a master's degree in urban planning. Nofire-Morris is Cherokee from Oklahoma. A 41-year-old mother of three, she represents Haskell's diversity. Her goal is to be an elementary school teacher. Commencement is Friday with events all weekend. Get the Story:
