The Hopland Band of Pomo Indians will host an economic development conference this month at their reservation in California.

The main focus of the conference is telecommunications in and beyond Indian Country. The tribe has recently partnered with Broadband Wireless International Corporation to form a telecom company and will be showcasing its new wireless network which is scheduled to be up and running on the reservation next week.

"We are very pleased to offer a program agenda that focuses on technology as a means to further, as well as diversify economic development for tribes," said Sandra Sigala, president of the tribe's economic development corporation and chair of the tribal council.
