JUNE 23, 2000

The Tulalip Tribes of Washington have formed a partnership with the Everett Community College and the University of Washington at Bothell, embarking on a major effort to bring the tribe's government and members into the Internet age. The tribes provided a $300,000 to the community college, who is working with the Bothell campus to teach computing skills to tribal members.

The tribes are seeking federal and state funds to help buy and deploy hardware and software. The tribes hope to put every aspect of tribal life and government online, including computers for every home.
