MAY 2, 2001

The Arizona Legislature has approved a number of bills this session, including $105,000 in funds for KUYI, the Hopi Tribe's new radio station.

Rep. Sylvia Laughter, D-Kayenta, credits these and other bills with the formation of the House's first Native American Affairs Committee. Laughter and Governor Jane Hull were among those present on Tuesday at a thank-you luncheon served by Navajo Nation members.
