MARCH 7, 2001

The embattled music-sharing service Napster was given yet another ultimatum on Tuesay with a federal judge order to remove or block a large list of copyrighted songs within 72 hours.

If the California company doesn't comply, it could face contempt of court charges. Attempts at downloading songs targeted for blocking -- including those by major Napster foe Metallica -- have been attempted in recent days by a number of news organizations.

For the most part, the attempts have succeeded.
